What is Fatigue

Fatigue | Stress | Chronic | Syndrome | Cause | Symptoms | TreatmentFatigue is among one of the most common reasons for a person to visit a doctor or medical practitioner. For doctors, a complaint of feeling tired all the time or having fatigue is frustrating as they have no drug or recognised medication they can prescribe.

Fatigue can cover symptoms such as not feeling well, being tired, run down, lethargic, under par, not coping and so on.

Ailments such as hypoglycaemia, thrush, allergies, a nutritional deficiency and other health problems can leave you feeling exhausted without a direct cause or disease.

Fatigue can be part of many organic diseases which make you feel tired when you are unwell as your body is using its energy to try and combat the disease and return you to optimum health. The bodily processes of healing can leave little energy available for normal day to day living and lead to exhaustion and fatigue.

Chronic health problems like heart disease, anaemia and inflammatory problems such as arthritis can all cause fatigue and lead to poor overall health and wellness.

Psychological as well as physical problems can cause fatigue with depression, stress and anxiety leading to poor energy levels.

Fatigue can be beaten with a consistent effort of good nutrition, mild exercise, weight management, illness management and in some cases therapy, psychological treatment or specialist care.
